When Dafna first played us BADBADNEWS, we were instantly hooked. It carried the grit of grunge pop, yet she managed to blur the lines of country and pop in a way we hadn’t heard before. As we brainstormed visuals, we kept coming back to the song’s theme, being strung along by the same guy, which felt true to Dafna’s online presence, playful personality and her fanbases connection to her, while also tapping into the dark comedy of a failed relationship.

“I had the best time shooting BADBADNEWS with Lexee, she took my song and created an entire world out of it! Her attention to detail and fast thinking helped the shoot go by so smoothly and she also has the ability to recruit the best kinds of people so every day on set was full of joy. The final video is so fun and creative and even better than I could've imagined.”

We chose to set the video in the California desert, leaning into its emptiness and abandoned feel to amplify the story. What unfolded was a music video full of heart, one that leaves you immersed in Dafna’s world, invested in her missteps, and struck by the bittersweet naivety of trusting the wrong person.

Threaded throughout are choreographed line-dancing moments, deliberately jarring and abrupt, cutting into the choruses. They not only nod to the song's country-pop twist but also heighten the absurd comedy of dancing through heartbreak.
