OH MY GOD!

ALIYA

Working with ALIYA a second time on her latest single, OH MY GOD, was an awesome and familiar experience. We were able to build on the aesthetic we had already established with her, but diving more into the poppy reds. In the music video, the puppet imagery from the single cover evolves into a surreal performance. ALIYA sits in the audience, surrounded by dancers transformed into distorted, freakshow-like figures with exaggerated makeup and unsettling movements. They form a twisted chorus that heightens her sense of being watched and trapped.

“I just got to sit back, relax, focus on my music and let them do all the hard stuff. You don't really get much attention until you do something new and different, and that's what I'm doing.”

Onstage, a dancer in all white symbolizes ALIYA’s inner self—dragged and tossed by others tethered to invisible strings, evoking a sinister force pulling the strings. The stark white contrasts with the carnival-colored costumes, underscoring her isolation.

ALIYA is caught in a painful duality: both observer and controlled subject. Each attempt to look away or escape is blocked by the audience, forcing her to watch her own unraveling. Their haunting choreography mirrors her psychological entrapment—she’s both the spectacle and its captive.
